I bought this to hang on my bathroom window. This works thanks to the flexibility of the ropes. But also because of the flexibility of the ropes, the shelves tend to tip over. If it moves at all, the shelves will start to tip over. It seems easy by just pulling the rope. But he can quickly tip over and throw everything off the shelves. Ask me how I know. I didn't trust the bolts that came with the kit so I used very strong cup holder type bolts. Wooden floorboards have a slight country/shabby chic look. The shelf is a good size and cute. Expensive for what you get. I would not recommend placing valuable or fragile items on these shelves. I plan on putting mine against a wall and see if that makes it easier to tip over.
