Picun ANC-02Pro Hybrid Active Noise Canceling Headphones: $59.99 at time of review I already have several different wireless headset options in my home. So why am I trying this Picun headset? Well, one headset (my Airpods Pro) doesn't work well with Windows (my work PC), while another (Plantronics Voyager Focus UC) gives me trouble. Let's see how Picun holds up against the competition. * What I liked: * Package for ANC-02 Pro - great presentation. This is what you would expect on the Best Buy shelf. It also comes with a hard case, a USB-C charging cable, and a 3.5mm audio cable for wired mode. Comfortable fit. Between the foam ear pads and foam headrest, I barely knew it was there. The active noise cancellation (ANC) in this headset is pretty decent considering the price. In combination with the foam covering the ears, background noise is well eliminated without sound playback. It even has a switch that doesn't depend on audio performance, so you can just turn on ANC without doing anything else, which presumably saves battery. USB-C charging is good. Now if you have a modern phone cord (not iPhone) you can charge the headset. The price is not bad considering the ANC. $50 (assuming the coupon is still there) for a full-size Bluetooth 5.0 headset with active noise cancellation isn't bad at all. * What I didn't like: * Unfortunately, the sound is pretty disappointing. The highs and mids are very tinny. It has decent bass response, but it feels like it's too deep. All in all not a particularly pleasant listening experience. Compared to my other two headphones (admittedly not a fair comparison as they both sell for over $200) it just falls apart. My voice on the other end of the line didn't sound much better. When I switched headsets during a 20-minute test call (without telling the caller on the other end that I was switching), it was immediately apparent that I had switched. The test caller asked if I had driven into the tunnel (I wasn't driving at the time). * Verdict: * Without any other options, this is a decent headset for the price if you need ANC. Just don't expect great sound or voice. Three stars out of five. I would not order again as there are better alternatives.
