Borosilicate glass is my favorite tea brewing material. I enjoy watching the tea take on its color and brew from it. The big problem with borosilicate glass is that it breaks very easily. I've tried several sets of glass mugs and brewers. The last one broke in the wash. The gentle pressure of the soapy cloth burst it. So I was pleasantly surprised at how thick and durable the borosilicate glass on this kettle and brewer is. Yes, if you drop it on the kitchen floor it will shatter, but it's much, much stronger than sets I've had in the past. My only complaint is that I would like the strainer to be inserted deeper into the pot. It doesn't even go halfway, so you have to brew a full pot (enough for two people or a greedy tea pig like me) to get a good brew. The small cups that come with the kit are very small. I would say everyone has an ounce but I don't use them. I love this teapot.
