Not much bass and if you're expecting it to be very loud you'll be disappointed. But I use it for morning walks and I don't need it very loud so it's perfect for me. I think the reason it doesn't seem very loud is that you can hear a lot of ambient noise because they obviously don't block out noise. Your headphones are definitely louder and contain more bass because they block out ambient noise. but to be honest they have become my favorite headphones. I use them on camping trips, morning walks, playing pickleball, working in the yard, or any other time I don't need to block out ambient noise. In my opinion this is money well spent. It should also be noted that I have a fairly large head and they are not very tight. I think it would be better if they were tighter, but who knows, maybe then they would be uncomfortable. If you have a small head I don't think they will work well.
