Review on Jason Styling Gel: Flaxseed Hi Shine, 6 Oz - Achieve Brilliant Hair by Laurie Nelson

So I switched to a more natural lifestyle in general for many reasons. Then I started reading stories here and there about some of the gels that cause cancer in humans. In fact, I used one of those brands. This scared me to death so I did a little research on the gels. My hair is beautiful, long, wavy/curly and thick but prone to frizz. It loses definition during the frizzy phase and I needed a gel that could soothe my hair, add shine and restore definition when needed. So when I ordered this I noticed how small the bottle was but figured I might use less to make up for it. So here's my honest review: I've been using this for about 6 months now and I have to say that overall I really like it. The scent is light and fresh (unisex in nature) and not overpowering. Really clean. It adds shine and definition and doesn't crunch. I haven't had any problems with peeling or dusting either. The only problem I've noticed is that it tends to dry out the ends of the hair. I make up for this by using aloe vera in my hair first to moisturize it and start the definition process. I apply a fair amount of the product to the ends and then add some of this gel to hold the hair in place. I add a little on the ends but they don't dry out because of the aloe. My favorite aspects of this gel are the scent and the shine it gives to the hair while controlling it. Hope that helps!
