I bought this charger as an inexpensive extra charger for my MacBook Pro. I often move from one place to another, and instead of rolling up the cord and taking it everywhere, I keep a separate power supply at each location. While there are cheaper Apple counterparts, some don't deliver the full 87W, and many have poor ratings, fail after a few weeks, overheat, or produce sparks in the connector block. I haven't had any problems with this power supply. It gets warm but not hot during use, charges my Mac quickly, and the included cable makes for a snug, secure fit. It doesn't have a removable plug like Apple's original power adapter, which is both good and bad: good , because there is one less moving part that could fail; bad because you need an adapter for international travel or an extension cord if you need more length. I am very satisfied with this product so far.
