It was important to my husband and I that our 10 year old son had a solid education and a foundation in life so of course he should know how to change oil and sew on a button or carry out minor repairs. However, when I was looking for some sort of introduction to sewing for kids, everything seemed made specifically for girls. I am so grateful that I stumbled across this book! The photos inside show both girls and boys. While some designs are more gender specific (to create a wrap skirt), most are completely neutral. I was able to put together our own sewing kit that wasn't in the pink flower box (not that pink was wrong, but he wanted a plain green box). When he sees sewing on his weekly schedule, he gets all excited. I'm so glad he's enjoying learning such an important skill!
