I have the same cover for my queen size mattress and wanted the same protection for my soon to be born baby. I have a Simmons crib mattress which is a standard crib size. I put it on the crib mattress and it's a little loose which is good because if it's too tight it will eventually tear (this happened with an old cover from another brand; it was so tight on my king mattress that the zipper came off soon broken). When I put the mattress in a cot with a cover (I have a DaVinci Kalani crib with a changing unit) the material of the cover creases a bit, but I'm sure if I put a sheet over it the mattress will stay flat. Heed the ridiculous warnings and don't put your baby on this cover alone; it's too loose for that. I plan to pull the sheet taut and then tuck the edges down once the mattress is in the crib to ensure the sheet is taut. If I encounter any problems submitting the sheets (less than two months left) I will update my review. The material is very nice, the zipper is well protected and I expect it to work as it should. I love this brand so much I am now looking for one for my oldest son's bed. Better safe than sorry when it comes to bed bugs!
