Great Value! There has been a bit of FUD and disparagement in the trade press regarding the integrated Intel G7/Xe graphics. My advice: **Don't worry** The MSI system in question has an Intel i7-1185G7 processor with integrated G7 graphics. Intel finally has integrated graphics with really decent graphics performance. It won't compete with high-end discrete Nvidia and AMD GPUs for gaming, but it's more than adequate for everything else. In particular, I tested several "4K" 3840x2160p60 HDR video streams and the system actually works, runs cool and quiet. A Youtube 4K 60fps test video used as a benchmark by some showed zero, zed frame drops in 4K. К сожалению, у MSI нет встроенного порта HDMI, но я вставил адаптер TB3/4 USB-C => HDMI 2.1, он согласовался с телевизором до 3840x2160p60 10-бит HDR, и результаты от 25- 4K-видео со скоростью 30 Мбит/с - it is great. And when watching 4K videos, the system was so cool and quiet that it could be used as a laptop. In fact, it was even tested with one of the few 8K videos available at 60fps (7680 x 4320p60) and it looked fine with less than 0.1% frame drop (at 4K - I don't have an 8K monitor). Note that this is a 16GB system - I would advise everyone to use 16GB (instead of 8GB) to ensure full usage - integrated graphics sometimes require 4-5GB of available memory. Other MSI features I like are dual TB4 ports/USB-C power delivery, an almost symmetrical keyboard that thankfully doesn't have a number pad, a very nice non-glossy HD display, a decent keyboard, and a great touchpad (much better than most laptops with Windows - actually more like Apple). Overall, the system is very similar to the MacBook Air - which compares favorably to most Windows laptops. Graphics performance is comparable to a previous generation laptop used by a family member with an Nvidia 960M GPU. This system is heavier and noisier, and when I compare graphics performance, it's similar in graphics performance. In my testing, the 1185G7 performs similarly to the 960M. This laptop is ultra-light - lightweight, compact, quiet, runs cool, has a tactile trackpad and phenomenal performance for such a minimalist system. Less is more for a number of reasons - no discrete GPU and no numeric keypad. Intel 1185G7 and Apple M1 represent the next wave of integrated CPU/GPU that have more than enough CPU and GPU speed for almost all everyday tasks. What is missing in this MSI? Integrated HDMI 2.1 port, integrated wired Ethernet port, another USB-A port. I'd jump to a 4K display, but unfortunately it's hard to find one without the addition of a discrete GPU. That's why I chose the HD display. I would rate the 1TB and 2TB SSD options. For the price, this ultralight has amazing performance.
