I studied children's tables for months. I can't say enough good things about this set. The front legs of the chairs are slightly shorter than the back legs, so they don't fold backwards as easily if they recline too much. So easy to assemble and very good quality. The backs are strong so no one slips into the hole and dangles their legs when sitting on their knees. The legs are made of solid wood and take a lot of weight. We have teak floors and they haven't scratched them (although of course we don't encourage them to carry them around!) The appearance is very nice. Looks just as cool for a 2 or 6 year old and goes well with our rooms but safety means more to me. Very, very strong! An adult can also sit at the table and eat, do crafts and hang out! Versatile because kids can grow up in it! 2 more chairs can be bought but I think the table is too small for 4 chairs. However, if I need extra chairs, I know where to find them. I still watch them, of course, as I would in any other situation, but I couldn't be happier with this table and chairs!
