***Great device with amazing potential***

Unboxing: The new Amcrest AD110 looks like any other doorbell on the market and comes with 2 bezels (grey and black). be metal but both are plastic, a bit fragile but still fit for a doorbell. It comes with everything you need to install it. Before purchasing a doorbell that requires power, make sure the current doorbell is a power source and not a battery. Compare it to other doorbells, it's as small as the Ring but slightly larger than the Nest Hello. The box design and distribution isn't as fancy as the Nest Hello, but hey, all those things get thrown away anyway. Preparation: The instruction is well written and the online videos are very helpful to prepare the doorbell before installation. According to the instructions, some of the screws that came preinstalled on the doorbell were missing, but I was able to find them in one of the bags. The long extra piece of extra cable shown in the video or manual didn't come with me. I ended up using some wires I had at home. Before you start the installation, make sure that all necessary screws are included in the kit. Hello, installation video detailing the different types of wind chimes). On one side is a green plug that fits the bell set and two "U" shaped connectors that lead to the bell transformer. Doorbell: Installation can vary here, in my case I had to use a bezel to cover a hole in the concrete. Wall. I would like the wires to the doorbell to have the same U connectors as the chime kit for ease of installation. Two bezels are included (nice feature), they're a bit awkward to remove and can break if mishandled, but there's an extra one in the kit. After connecting the cables, the installation went smoothly. Amcrest Home App: After installing the doorbell, open the Amcrest Home app and follow the instructions. The app generally works well and the installation process was easy. I had to format my 128GB SD card to FAT32 on my computer and the doorbell was able to accept it. The app was somehow able to add another one of my Amcrest cameras and the layout is most likely the "ring" layout where you can see all the cameras at once while the app is open. I ended up turning it off leaving only the doorbell. The videos load fairly quickly and you can remotely access the ones stored on the SD card. I can't comment on the cloud system, I don't intend to use it anyway. Those with a Blue Iris (according to other customers) or an Amcrest NVR (in my case) can have their own cloud at home. It connects to the DVR with no problems. Just get the IP address from the app and add it to the NVR. The problem I have with systems like Ring, Nest, and other doorbells is that you have to pay in addition to purchasing the product to fully use it. Nest Hello Vs. Amcrest AD110 My current doorbell is the Nest Hello, which is $5.99/month for 5 days 24/7. The price increases if you want more recording time. With a paid service, Nest Hello also adds package delivery notifications, facial recognition, activity zones, clips and time-lapses, continuous video history, and close-up photos. With the Amcrest AD110, cloud services are $6 for 7 days of recording (motion recording only) and that's basically it. The Nest Hello (Google) ecosystem is great and connects to my Chromecast and Google mini. By simply asking Google mini to show the front camera in the main room (Ex), a live feed will appear on the screen within a few seconds. Every time someone rings the bell, every Mini in the house will say "someone at the door" or if face recognition is enabled, "Mike at the door", the latter only works with a paid service. Overall, this is a great device (Nest Hello), but the thought that I have to pay $50 a year for 5 days of recording to unlock the device's full potential is a pain. Because it's cloud-based like Ring and other doorbells, if your internet goes down for X or Y reasons, your doorbell won't record at all. The Amcrest AD110 is a great device with plenty of room to grow into an amazing device. Video quality is the same as Nest in my opinion. What I like best is that you don't have to mess with a subscription to get the most out of your device. I already have several Amcrest products to help my setup work better and maximize my money. I can have a home cloud base unit that can record 30+ without a subscription and you have an SD card backup (128GB max capacity) accessible via the Amcrest app on the SD card only motion is recorded and if there is why my internet is down, I know for sure that the doorbell and NVR are still recording. Two-way call quality is as good as the Nest and hearing the person on the other side. Conclusion YMMV, my current doorbell, great relationship with all my google products (live view via chromecast, ads via google mini, gif notification which i like, great preview of what's happening outside your door without even opening the app , good app with many features, such as a seasonal tone ring). But it all comes down to money and usage in my opinion. I work hard to make money, like many of us, and I want to make sure every cent I spend goes to its intended purpose. Nest's features are great, but I can live without them. Looking at the AD110 it might not have the same quality of materials (build) or the perfect app, but it at least lets me know when someone is at the door and captures the footage (which is basically what the is everyone gets a doorbell for) App notifications are fast, sometimes even faster than Nest Hello. Cooldown is faster on Amcrest than Nest Hello, which is ideal but annoying at times when you're chatting with someone at the door. Another thing the AD110 doesn't have is a corner mount, hopefully it will come. All in all I can tell you guys that I will soon be replacing my Nest Hello with an AD 110, in my case it makes more sense given my current setup but for others it might not be the best option... YMMV. Update 12/14/2020: Still works fine, recording was great and notifications still come up pretty quickly. The app can now upload footage for easy sharing on other platforms (SMS, WhatsApp). The video and audio quality is still the same as the first day. The wifi connection was pretty stable. Very happy with the device, no matter who asks me this will always be number 1.
