Review on 🔧 Enhanced Mini VCI J2534 TIS Techstream Cable - Advanced OBD2 Diagnostic Cable for Optimal Support with TIS Techstream by Greg Greiner

Works but not right away

Bought to pull ABS codes for my Camry 99; more on that later. It comes with a mini-vci and a software CD containing two folders, one for software version 13.00 and one for software version 15.00.028. I have a Win 7 32 bit hard drive. I tried version 13 first, and while the installation video on the CD didn't help much, I was able to install it and use the key that came with it. But when you try to install auto, cmd prompt window just shows "The program is too big for the memory" and shuts down. At this point I uninstalled it and installed it from the version 15 folder. Again there was an installation video but this time it helped even less. Here's what I did to install it: Install the "legal" version of techstream-v15.00.026. Install the mini-vci driver. Install the "modified" version update. to v15.00.28. Open techstream and change the adapter from techstream to xhorse. If you open techstream directly, you will be asked for a registration key. Using the patch file initiates a connection to the vehicle (mini-VCI connected to car and laptop, and the key with the engine off) and opens the techstream in reverse. able to test evap and egr vsv for which there are some codes. I would give 5 stars but the installation information provided is very sparse and not entirely accurate. Also be prepared to pry it off the obdII connector unless you break the middle tab first.
