They are well made and should last a couple of years at least. I usually wear work pants with built in knee pads (bony knees and I'm in my 60's, they save lives and nobody should listen to my tongue when I have to work without pads on my knees). I wanted to have them on hand for those times when I have to work from the floor and don't have pants with built-in padding. They work for whatever pant you wear and do a very good job. The presence of straps only in the lower part allows you to work with bent knees without disturbing blood circulation, which is much more convenient. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because after a few rounds they tend to slide down the leg or to the side. easy to fix. could blame my skinny legs for the problem. Either way, they're comfortable, work well, and I expect them to last.
