Review on ๐Ÿ”ถ 4-Pack of 3M Accuspray Atomizing Heads in Orange with 1.4 mm Nozzle Size (16612) by Richard Summerall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product - absolutely lousy instructions.

Works very well. I save a decent amount of paint because it sprays so efficiently. The instructions are terrible. Again, the instructions are terrible. Did I mention the instructions are terrible? It says they're for professional use, so I'm assuming you already know how these top guns work. I'm going to call 3M as I set the air pressure by trial and error. The sensor they give you is useless in my opinion, but then maybe I don't understand how to use it properly; instruction problem. The mixing sleeve is also useless for me, since I don't know how to use it properly either. This is number 2 to 3M. If you buy this you can also get a boatload of these thin inserts and caps with a built in filter. You get 5, and realistically any bet/cap combo is good for 1. painting session. I mixed the paint and thinner at a 4:1 ratio using the ounce scale in the mixing insert as my paint didn't have instructions for use with a spray gun. All other scales on the mixed insert are a mystery to me. If you mix up a batch and it runs out while you're spraying, you can reuse the liner and cap for extra spraying if you use common sense. The insert will fold in, so just use a screwdriver etc to push it back in so it looks like you started it. Flush the inside of the cap filter with solvent to remove any dirt before it enters the spray stream. Now mix and use as usual. Keep in mind that the insert will not be perfectly level after use, so the mixing scale will be slightly off. If you're not drawing the Mona Lisa, don't worry. The 1.4 head is the only one I've used for priming and then painting steel. I ordered a box of 1.4 heads, suspecting I would end up using them, and I was right. Once I sprayed primer on two steel structures and cleaned the head. The next day I applied black enamel to one structure with the same head, then cleaned it again and applied white enamel to another structure. It worked great. The gun is really easy to keep clean and the consumables are affordable.
