I've bought a couple of plastic folding stools before and they've all cracked or broken over time. Keep in mind that I'm well under the max weight limit - they were just poor quality and I even bought one of the prettier known brands. Took about 5-10 minutes to assemble, it was easy - and it WORKS! It is very durable. I use it next to my very high bed and can even slide it under if I don't want to see it, although the visuals are nice. It's definitely worth the money (unless you're willing to buy the plastic over and over again).
