Great performance at a low price, a few minor flaws

Overall, this is a great system for most people who need 1 or 2 wireless mics for event video, vlogging, or any other application that requires wired mics used are not required. not practical. The processing quality is very good, the cases have a durable rubber coating and belt clips. The receiver strap clip doubles as a hot shoe camera mount. The sound quality is quite decent and the gain can be adjusted in several stages. You can select a low-pass filter if required. Zero-latency monitoring via the receiver's headphone jack is also a plus. The system also includes 2 lavalier/lapel microphones with tie/lapel clips, 2 foam windscreens and 2 fluffy windscreens. Claimed range is up to 168 feet, although I haven't tested that yet. I can say that 90 feet (or more) is realistic in almost every situation. Various control buttons are conveniently arranged and easy to learn. Devices pair automatically when you turn them on, and if they don't, there's manual pairing as well. Internal batteries last 5 hours or more, and fast charging the transmitter and receiver simultaneously is an easy process thanks to the included 3-way USB charging cable. Thus, the SYNCO system seems to be a worthy competitor to the more expensive Rode system in this price range. With all this, what can not please? Well, there are a few downsides that probably won't be a deciding factor for many users. 1) Please note that it is not possible to immediately start a discharged device by replacing the physical battery as the system uses internal lithium-ion batteries. However, you can quickly charge the system up to 50% capacity in about 40 minutes. 2) Also, there is no display/audio meter, so you'll need to check the meter on your camera (or your mixer) to make sure you're receiving audio and that the levels are correct. Of course, this should be standard practice in any case. 3) Finally, the included fluffy windscreens are effective at reducing wind noise when using the built-in mic, but they use a snap-on mount that can accidentally be dislodged from your subject (the person wearing the transmitter) if they don't mind it. I never contacted the manufacturer, but I've heard they offer email support if needed. All in all, the SYNCO system seems to be very profitable!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
