Licking glue and paint

Bought this set for my daughter's birthday. It looked like a lovely present for my 4 year old daughter and she was delighted. When we opened the kit there was a big mess, all the glue came out. We washed the remaining bottles and tried to make a slime, but it turned out to be hard and not at all elastic. The activator may be defective. Also, the scents smelled so strong it gave my husband and I headaches. The children were disappointed.
