Good idea but a few things to note: The part that goes into the phone (when you charge that) may interfere with the case you have. If you try to remove it every time, the connection tends to "wear out" pretty quickly and you could lose that little magnetic element. Without them, the cable is useless. I often get the "Checking connection" message when using this cable to charge my phone. It rarely connects well enough for fast charging. If you need to remove the magnetic part, it can be difficult to remove. (I think it might be good. At least it won't fall out!)
