This is a great and very heavy frame! I think it's ceramic or all resin. That's 3 pounds. I read reviews of it falling off the wall and when I received it I understood why. It had 2 small sawtooth picture hangers attached to thin cardboard covered in velvet around the edges of the back of the frame. The box was screwed to the frame, but the picture hangers were only attached to the box. This method will in no way prevent a three pound frame from falling. Especially with the added weight of the earrings. WHAT I DID INSTEAD OF ripping up THE cardboard spine it came with but kept the sawtooth picture hangers. Instead I glued them on with Gorilla Glue Epoxy. I also used a medium sized sawtooth hanger in the center. I glued design paper on top to give the frame a nice background. I used THREE picture hangers instead of nailing them to the wall. And I used Command Mini Strips to hold the bottom corners of the frame. On 10/12/21 he was hanged for 2 weeks. And I will update when it falls. You could do this project BUT you won't find a frame of this quality. If you want to hang heavy earrings, choose this setting. If you only hang rivets, you can use a regular frame. I will be making my own with lighter, fancy frames to hold my rivets. 2 stars for easy installation because yes it is easy but as other reviews point out: it will fall off. 4 stars for durability because aside from the thin cardboard backing, the rest of this frame is extremely strong and durable. 5 stars for the gift because it is stunning.
