At first I thought they weren't very bright. We live in an 1880's house and our bathrooms are very large rooms with high ceilings. As full night fell and it got dark I saw that it actually gave off a very comfortable warm glow, just enough for our bathroom but not bright enough to draw attention to our bedroom. I don't use motion detection on this device but I use it on another and it works very well. I love that you can select motion and night time so it turns on when there's motion and also when it's dark. They're big enough to basically cover an outlet. But that's not why I bought it. Electrical outlets are hard to find in our old house, so we don't want to cover and hide them. When your sockets are worn out. As we. They're a little loose, but we'll be replacing our sockets soon. All in all I love the traditional beauty they have for our old Victorian era Eastlake.
