Hmmm. I confess I was very surprised at how well they work. I didn't want to make the ring smaller as my fingers get swollen sometimes so I looked for a ring size and found it on the first try. There are 3 different sizes (only larger diameter plastic spools). I started with the smallest diameter but then progressed to the medium. They come in strips about 4 inches long. Just cut what you need and wrap it around the ring at the back. Trim it so the length doesn't touch the other fingers and you're done. You can't feel it there until it's too long. It's made of transparent plastic and is on the back so it's not visible. From time to time the soap gets between the coils but comes out easily. Sometimes it slips in the wrong place on my ring, but it's no problem to slide it back. Much less annoying than my entire ring spinning used to be. I highly recommend them as a VERY cheap way to fix an annoying problem. This prevented my ring from spinning. I think I'll end up wearing a new piece but this one showed no wear and it's been almost 3 months now. This pack of ring gauges will last a long time. years I represent.
