This is a good sturdy product if you use it for its intended purpose and you have a very light laptop. I use it for my home studio. The weight of my DSLR causes my arm to sag for months. I'm not sure if it won't just come loose and ruin my expensive camera. Most likely, the plastic joints will compress over time, causing the arm to bend. This will slightly distort your image. I would recommend just buying stronger individual pieces and making them yourself. You can spend 2 times more money but you don't risk damaging the camera and your camera will fall on the floor.
