I bought this on purpose because it was the "Axor" line, which I read was the only Hansgrohe line still in Germany (and not made in China). I assumed that meant the chromed brass (metal) parts as well. It's plastic, not metal, and the chrome finish is scratched simply by rubbing it against the cardboard while taking it out of the box. It doesn't maintain good aesthetics over time and I worry about what will happen if it falls and hits the shower floor. I'll probably return it and look for something more durable or cheaper if it's plastic.
