Review on The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Face Mask - Vegan, 2.6 Fl Oz by Tim Rios

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Least favorite Body Shop product. yet still a fave

Probably 90% of the products I use for my "once a week facial conditioning routine" come from The Body Shop. I've been using this one for about a year now, so don't get me wrong and believe I would not recommend this product --> anything from The Body Shop is almost always 100% bullet-proof. However, this particular mask has me a little, let's say, "puzzled":1- It is not very easy to apply since it is quite dense and dries up super fast so evenly spreading it is not the most effortless task (waiting on delivery of The Body Shop's Facial Mask Brush, though, to see if that helps).2- I don't quite really see the results claimed to provide (yet again, it won't "hurt" to keep using it --> anything Body Shop --> almost always 100% bullet-proof. Also, I've been reading other reviews, both here and on The Body Shop's site, and many people say you should leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes -instructions say 5 to 10- to see results, so I'm giving that a try as I write this review).3- Instructions say "rinse off with warm water and a muslin cloth in circular motions to gently exfoliate". Well, let me tell you, the "gentle" part is owed here --> this mask has a lot of "exfoliating power" (it is probably the strongest facial scrub I own) so it may be too abrasive for people with sensitive skin. Wouldn't recommend using it more than once a week (even though instructions say "use 2 to 3 times a week").If I could give it a 3.5 star rating, I would. So, because it is from The Body Shop, because I am going to make some tweaks here and there to help it help me, I'll give it 4 stars.

Pros
  • Sustainable and eco-friendly - The Body Shop is committed to sustainability and using eco-friendly ingredients and packaging materials, making this product a responsible choice for the environmentally conscious consumer
Cons
  • May not provide results for those with deeply congested pores
