I really don't like the blanket but needed white when it got cold. The hemline combined with the crocheted lace trim makes the edges VERY voluminous. It's so heavy that the whole thing often slips off immediately and falls to the ground (uncomfortable). Lace is made of cotton but has a very different feel to quilted cotton, so they don't seem compatible with each other. The tip also scratches when it gets close to the face. I would recommend that you do not use this for sleeping, solely as a duvet. I'll end the season with this and then donate it and buy something less bulky, scratchy, heavy and ugly.
