This is a good lamp with many possible functions. You can leave it in your car in case you need to stop at the side of the road, or even use it as a security car or golf cart. It is very bright and can throw light from reflectors about 100 meters away. You can even see it from at least 500m away, maybe more. Love the fact that it's battery operated and I don't have to turn off the car for it to work. Overall it appears to be a quality solid construction. So what is the main problem of this flashlight? Fading too fast. Although the battery life is stated as 40 hours, it starts to weaken noticeably after 5 hours. This would be fine if you're only using the light for quick commutes, but if you plan on using it for your entire shift you won't be too happy. After 5 hours the light projection had advanced barely 10 feet. You can still see it from a distance, but it becomes a lot harder to make out what you're looking at in the first place. And you can't tell what mode it's in. It only appears as a faint amber light in the distance. For reference, I'm using eneloop AA batteries, which have a pretty good capacity (2000mAh x 4 = 8000mAh total). Capacity). This light appears to be passing the batteries and dims too quickly. 40 hours is certainly possible, but after 5 hours of use you won't be as impressed and they just seem barely noticeable. I am purchasing a P16LM from ESafety Lights LLC which uses 2 D type batteries and uses 16 LEDs versus 20 LEDs in this flashlight. I will be using Tenergy 8000mAh batteries which should give me around 16000mAh total for this flashlight. Combined with the fact that it uses 4 fewer LEDs I think it stays bright longer and is more efficient. I will give an update once I have tested this lamp.
