battery powered fans. We had to have two fans for our kids in the back seats during the summer months to cool them down faster as they mostly sit rear-facing. The packaging looked like a cheaper kiosk fan in a mall, but it was doable. The fan itself: Powered by 2 AA batteries. We use rechargeable Duracell 2100 batteries which last around 3-4 hours with normal use. We tend to keep the fans in the car in the heat and turn them on in bursts of 5-25 minutes during the weekdays. They blow a pleasant constant breeze at a distance of about 2 feet. The fan blades are made of soft foam and I'm not worried about kids sticking their fingers in the blades (which they did several times) and hurting themselves. The fans stop and restart when they remove their fingers. The clip on the bottom is very strong and for the most part easily hangs anywhere. The tubing from the base to the fan seems a bit cheap but it lasted with no issues. The battery cover is attached and held in place with a single Phillips screw. Do not overtighten the screw, otherwise the battery cover will crack, but the cover will stay on for a while. We are disappointed in several things. First, the fan is only one speed, so there are no Lo or Hi settings here, but we really didn't expect them from this device. lower battery. Since the fan blades are made of foam, they are not very durable when children handle the fan themselves. I managed to bend most of the blades to where they should be, but you can tell they don't spin smoothly anymore. The fan blades also have several nicks where the child grabbed the fan and ripped out the pieces. Dropping a fan won't necessarily stop it, but it will also bend the fan blades. In general, the fan works great. I would have given the fan 4 stars if the fans weren't cheap, but I really like them. We bought zebra print and orange.
