#1 - Go 1/2 size up for the rise! I have been riding (dressage) in 2 different Ariat leather lace up boots (size 6 and 6.5) for 3 years 5 days a week and I love them. When it came time to replace them, I saw the Ascent. Since almost ALL the low reviews came from people who couldn't get them because they were too tight, I knew this could work, gave it a try and ordered a size 7. All I can say is WOW! Easy to put on, not too loose around the foot and ankle, great ankle flexibility, SUPER comfortable to walk in. Bonus? They are much prettier than in the pictures. I have black and red. Now I'm ordering stockings and maybe another pair so I can rotate them and make sure they're breezy between days of skiing. UP SIZE and a must if you have a narrow foot and/or low volume.
