Review on ๐Ÿ”ฉ Complete Mounting Hardware for Frame Brackets by Alif Wills

Sports and outdoors are worth every penny

The attached image shows the finished product. I have 5 kids and another on the way so I built it with the intention that it would last well into 18+ years and be big and strong enough for even teenagers to enjoy. I've only been using this swing for about a month so we'll see how long it lasts :). This framing member made installing the swing beam and frame much easier than assembling something yourself. I made a 10 foot 4x4 for the legs of the A-frame so it's quite large (about 9 feet) and I was a little nervous if it would be strong enough. I just added 2x6 boards over the A frame for extra stability and I think that's enough. A few other reviewers noted the difficulty of mounting this part to a 4x6 swing beam and I can confirm that was the biggest issue. For me, my swing beam is 16 feet long, and as it should be, this piece is snug fitting (although the rivets holding the Eastern Jungle Gym logo make it even snugger). But getting him to move 8 feet to the center of the beam was quite difficult. I ended up resting my beam on a couple of 2x4s on the ground, with that piece having slid onto the end of the beam, and then moving the beam 2x4 into a post like a ram (and yes, it was as hard as it sounds ). . Moved it forward a few inches each time. Difficult, but it worked. My 4x6 also spent a couple of days in the rain and softened up a bit, so I think that helped too. If you buy this particular part (90 degree A frame) just make sure your pivot beam doesn't vary greatly in size and be prepared for some fiddling to install it.
