I wish I had read the other reviews about it before I bought it. I was unfamiliar with common Cat5e cable design until I bought one and tried plugging it into an outlet. My plan was to leave one end intact to connect to my wireless router and then run the cable across my house to my office. I wanted to plug the office end into a wall outlet, so I had to cut a wire to try and connect the internal wires to the wall outlet's terminal points. A typical internal Cat5e wiring consists of 8 individual wires, usually sheathed in four basic colors: blue, orange, green and brown, and each of these solid wires has a pair: blue/blue-white, orange/orange-white, green /green. -white and brown/brown-white. This cable has eight unique colors which of course do not match real color coded Cat5e cables. If you just want a long cheap ethernet cable this might work for you, but if you need to cut a cable to plug into a jack or add a jack to plug into a jack, computer or similar stuck, try to find something other than this junk. Thank goodness it was under $8 but the shitty thing is it's not even worth returning because it's going to cost me so much shipping. I also don't like that I now have to climb under the house again to lay another cable.
