Yes, a bit pricey but worth every penny - first reaction was 1) God we need it! Then 2) "God darling, can't you do something like that?" Was delivered a day earlier than expected and was very impressed with the careful packaging as well as the quality of the scratching post itself. We recently got a new couch which is changing quickly turned into a great new cat toy. Things I really like: - It includes a stand that you attach to the holes on the base of the scratching post (the holes are pre-drilled) with screws (supplied in a separate pack) so it can stand on its own or much better glide. under your sofa where the cat likes to curl up - the opposite side is carpeted so you won't get caught on the padding if it bumps into your sofa - easy to move if/as needed to feel like you on the " sweet spot" trying to figure out (and/or determine) your cat's preferred scratching post location - as far as cat scratching posts go, they're really unobtrusive. The last thing I wanted was another big scratching post in the room but I love my cat and hate yelling at him or being alert every time he wanders around the corner of the couch. My cat got used to the new scratching posts really quickly (this is our 4th). I bring him in by rubbing catnip on him and coaxing him into playing with a toy. Then it automatically starts to scratch and "sticks". He uses it every day and I love it - no more screaming!
