Bought these (winter) gloves just before a 10k ride and wore them 50% of the time or more. Next observations: Tight fit. Ordered according to the manufacturer's scheme. I thought they might loosen over time but they still fit well (and therefore a royal pain if your hands are at all wet) after almost 2 months of use. I will buy a size larger than recommended for the summer version. - "Winter Weight". Nearly. I would call them "cool weather" rather than "cold weather" gloves. My hands were freezing in 40 degree weather, and I ended up using FirstGear electric glove liners most of the time in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit (heavy compression given the gloves' tight fit). A definite plus and one of the main reasons I bought these gloves - quality. Better than you would expect for the price. The stitching and fabric are still not loose after almost 2 months of continuous wear.- Metal ankle pads. Don't quite line up with your real knuckles. Steel bits transfer some of the cold to your hands. The inner liner sometimes rotated inside the glove when the glove was removed, or rotated the thumb of the glove when removed. This problem was solved quite simply by applying finger pressure to the glove to align the inside and outside of the glove, but the manufacturer was able to fix the problem by sewing the sides of the fingers/thumb a bit to keep the inside and outside. Gloves are better attached/aligned. - Waterproof. It seemed to withstand several hours of rain well. The outer skin was wet, of course, but the inner skin seemed practically dry. Some moisture inside but I couldn't tell if it was from the rain or the moisture that was on my hands when I first put the gloves on. - Convenient for touch screen. The material of the gloves allowed using the touchscreen on my GPS, wet or dry. - A mitten on the wrist. Too small especially for winter gloves which you know wear a thicker jacket. I would really like the manufacturer to develop these flared gloves (both winter and summer). Be that as it may, part of the wrist barely extends over the tapered sleeve of my mesh riding jacket. It took a lot of effort to get them. All in all I would recommend these gloves (and will order a set for the summer version). The combination of high visibility materials and good quality at this price makes them a good buy in my opinion.
