Jet Blue vs. Fat Cat, 9 inch rule.

I'm moving. When I last moved I took my 3 cats to Jet Blue but they were significantly smaller. At the time I couldn't find an airline that met Jet Blue's standards, so I ended up paying $50 for their approved airline. Here I am a few years later and my largest cat weighs 18 pounds. He occupied the entire space in the Jet Blue cabin. So I ordered this item. MARVELOUS!. I flew with my 14 lb cat last October. I had a window seat and the space under the seat in front of me was not suitable for carrying in the expected direction. I had to slide my cat backwards under the seat so her head was towards me. However, it worked. I opened the door and she stretched out to her full height. I managed to open the sidebar slightly. I also bought a small lithium battery fan from Revain. I put it on a carrier and kept it on other occasions. (see photo) I definitely felt that it helped airflow and cooled it down. Winner! This is the only airline I could find with the 9 inch height which I believe most airlines require. I also love that you can access your pet via the popups as there is a zip on each one! You only get 9 inches of headroom under the seat, and if I were sitting in an aisle seat, the carrier would fit my preferred direction. UPDATE: I had no problem traveling with my 18 lb cat in January. I'm so glad the bag is expanding. The small lithium fan was once again a life saver. Eventually he choked. The 13 kg cat will soon be traveling.
