Great Inexpensive Spoons

What you need to know: These are inexpensive spoons. Depending on how you want to use them, they may or may not suit you. Keep in mind that some children are picky about the material of the spoon. (For example, they may not like a hard plastic spoon or metal spoon.) As mentioned, some degradation may occur. (See "Longevity” below.) Our Situation: My premature son has just started eating solid food. He's a picky eater, so we didn't want to spend too much on spoons if he didn't like their shape or texture. - Size: Perfect for kids who are ready to eat solid foods and more. - How long have I been using: Over the past 2 months we have used 2 scoops alternately. We use the spoon at least once a day - shelf life: depends on the frequency of use and the age of your children. Many find that the bottom of the spoon deteriorates after some use. I believe this is inevitable if you use it on a child who is teething and learning to eat. They bite the spoon or scrape the bottom of the spoon causing more wear than normal. Once your child learns to work with a spoon, this problem will go away. OR if you are using this on a child or an older child you should not have this problem. Read more about - Design: I like the fact that they are made of soft, flexible plastic. This prompts my son to grab the spoon and I can easily use it to "wipe" my mouth when it gets dirty. However, since it is a flexible plastic, it has drawbacks in terms of durability. While I think it makes sense to have a "built-in support" in these spoons to keep the spoon off the table, it takes a little getting used to. If you place the spoon on a shallow container or your child reaches for it, they can easily turn over the spoon (and its contents). Even if I put a spoon in an empty baby food jar, it can easily tip over and fall out of the jar. To avoid this, you can put it on the table. - Last comment - I bought 2 packs and I am satisfied with my purchase. Now that I see that my son likes to eat and is not picky, I can buy him a metal spoon or a plastic one. However, I will keep them until he starts eating on his own.
