This is a women's zip, not a men's zip

My husband had a coat where the zipper self-destructed. So I replaced it with this one. As well as all the issues of removing the old zip, the new zip was longer which caused problems. However, after a few hours my husband's biggest concern is that it's a women's zipper - it closes on the opposite side.
