Review on Case Logic DCB 308 Camera Sling by James Mayfield

Good bag at a great price, the tripod system is missing

At first I had a little doubt that this bag would meet my needs. However, I thought it was worth the risk for the price. After a few months (about 2-3 times a week) I found that I am mostly happy with my purchase. The strap is comfortable and wide enough not to pinch when the bag is full and heavy. I've read reviews mentioning that the strap was snapped or torn off, I've seen nothing of the sort. Haven't used it in bad weather yet, so I can't comment on the waterproofness of the bag itself or the waterproof case that comes with it. It has enough room for a day trip and enough pockets and pockets to keep everything organized. I can mount my Pentax K-50 with a 55-300mm lens and it's great. I wish it was a little bigger so there was more room in the top pocket. You can move the bottom of this bag to make room at the expense of camera/lens waste. My biggest concern, which turned out to be true, was that the "tripod system" looked substandard. I use a SLIK 340DX and although it fits, only two legs fit in the bag and the tether strap is too low and loosely attached so it hangs around all the time. I assume a monopod would fit, as well as a much smaller tripod, I just think it wasn't well thought out. Overall I'm happy with the bag (at $40 I don't expect it to be perfect) but I would be much happier with a larger, more reliable tripod system. Pros: Deep enough to fit in my Pentax K.-50 with the 55-300mm lens attached (lens hood flipped). The bag easily fits my tablet - The shoulder strap is easily adjustable with a Velcro strap to secure excess material.
