Good cat7 but a bit smelly

Okay I just got this. I tested it, although it's good, but it has a strange smell. I suspect there's a weird plastic or chemical smell low because I'm using a cable to plug in an old router to use as a wireless hotspot. I throttle the WiFi hotspot so I can use my main router's full speed for wired devices.
