I guess there's nothing wrong with a bowstring being made in China; it just hit me wrong. That in and of itself is no reason to reject it. I can make a good bowstring but it takes a while. A Chinese citizen could do just as good a job as I can and even better. But, the quality was poor. When I strung my Martin Savannah longbow, it was clear that the string was too short. It was already "unwound" all the way; I couldn't lengthen it by untwisting. When I pulled both loops thru a "brush button" hole, the serving on one loop began to separate. That's never happened before. I'm returning it.
