The size is exactly what I was looking for; It fits my hand perfectly with a good weight and I really appreciate how deep the bowl is. I like to soak the brush in the bowl before shaving and have found that many bowls are too shallow for soaking as the bristles are not fully covered. This bowl is not only wide enough to lather and still feel comfortable in my hand, but also deep enough for me to fully submerge the brush bristles while soaking. completely different opinion. The marble it is made of has an outer coating that is absolutely non-slip. If the bowl is not completely covered with soap, even in very high humidity, this bowl has good friction, which keeps it safe. Don't be afraid to slip out of your hands.
