It saves my counter tops
I use part of my kitchen as a craft space, so the counter is my workspace. I use hot glue and soldering irons in my crafts. This mat keeps me from having to move to the stovetop when I use these tools. The only drawback is the silicone is kind of hard to clean. I'm still learning, so maybe I'll figure out a trick to cleaning it.
