I bought another popular no switch USB connector and believed the erroneous comments that it wouldn't drain my battery/wouldn't make a difference. And so it was. It was a hassle to remove the seat to connect/disconnect with each use to prevent draining the battery, so I looked for a device with a switch. Advantages: change! Long enough to return to the battery under the seat, leaving about a foot. Ties included! Cons: The rubber grommets that came with it weren't thick enough to attach the mount to my bars, so I had to figure out a workaround. The detachable bracket doesn't snap into place to secure the USB port as intended, but would still be fine I think. An easy way had to be found to attach it directly to the poles with a cable tie and completely eliminate the installation problem. The device consists of 2 parts: a bracket on the steering wheel with rubber pads to increase the thickness and a USB part that plugs onto the steering wheel for installation. It looks like the connector should snap into the cradle at the bottom of the carriage, but the plastic spring clip doesn't have enough pressure to securely lock it in place, so it slides up and down when tampered with. Although I don't think it will work. Why need a quick release when the wiring is routed through the body, zipped up and connected to the battery under the seat? There is no reasonable need for a quick erase option, so I think this is a poorly designed "feature" that is useless. No critical error. -0.1 stars My main issue with the installation was that despite all the rubber pads used, the inside of the mount still slid freely around the handlebars. I have a 2014 Suzuki Vstrom 650 for reference. Luckily I had some old spares from old bike and motorbike handlebar mounts (I never throw anything away for this very reason) so the three supplied + one more of my spare washers tightened it up. The closeup photo shows that a wider and very thick rubber gasket is closest to the metal. This is the one I had laying around and shows how far off it was in size! Without a backup option to just tie it directly to the bars, it was almost a failure. -0.9 stars. The previous connector had the ability to attach a cable tie directly to the grille. I would like to see it finished because it would save me some frustration and I would give the installation 5 stars. Everything else is great. Loved the backlit switch! Installation is a minor issue that will be a thing of the past as this thing continues to do what it was designed to do.
