There was a small defect but I did not remove the star because the problem is that the top flap that protects the leads has a seam , which does not exactly fit the pencil has a rubber band underneath which has worked better for my pencils than others. This made the two pencils directly beneath him rather shaky. But it has 73 separate pin slots instead of 72 so I just skipped it as shown in my photos (gap between blue pins) but it still held all 72 pins so it worked. There are also two wider stretch spaces, one on each side. You could probably use these slots for erasers or sharpeners. It's very well done. Good dense material, similar to canvas. Rolls up well. tie closure.
