Straps won't snap to Ionic

Although I like the look, the strap won't snap to my Ionic. The first one I received only had one piece snapped in. I returned it and ordered a replacement. My replacement straps will not snap into my Ionic. Also, it's almost impossible to resize the strips with the tool provided. That's where they really got stuck. These tapes are defective, I do not recommend.
