Review on BLACK DECKER Inches Stand Remote by Mathew Hishmeh

UPDATE 11/4/21: This fan and remote still work great. UPDATE 06/22/21: The fan works perfectly and I am very happy with it despite the blue light. It takes a lot of effort to screw up a simple fan. I chose Black & Decker because I have tools from the same company that I equate with quality. Should have read the reviews more seriously. First, as long as the fan is working properly. 3 direct air speeds as expected. The board works as it should. Nothing broke, although the box was clearly opened at some point and I believe the fan was missing packaging. Second, blue light is a problem at night when I'm trying to sleep. I added black tape but (see photo) it doesn't cover all the emitted light. Sigh. Third, it took me a few tries to figure out how to attach the bar to the base. The stand was wobbly at first. As this has been mentioned in other reviews I will explain how to use a "7" screw to securely attach the bar to the base. The trick is to thread the screw through the base and make sure the threads are visible through a metal 'washer' placed between the base and the shank. Then turn the POLE, not the screw, to tighten it. Keep the L-bolt stationary. The problem is solved. In general, the fan meets my needs. This is a replacement for the Windmere fan that I have had for 13 years. Although I've never had so many problems with the assembly of the fan. Black & Decker let me down on this fan because of the light.
