I had to replace the light in the lobby. We removed the old handle and pipe from most of the house and where the old light was we had to cut some holes to make it work with the 3 position switches we were using. We decided to add something more aesthetic, which not only makes the space more beautiful, but also makes it easier to install the new Romex. If you are reading this and planning to install in a single group box in the wall, make sure you place it horizontally as the holes are not aligned vertically. In this case, drilling the panel is not very difficult and can be easily modified. I can't remember if the instructions mention this because 1) they weren't very detailed and 2) I didn't read them. However, I was surprised at how bright they actually were. We have them on either side of the hall upstairs, with a stairway on one side under one of the lamps. I was a bit worried we would need a second light but I think these two do their job well. Not to mention that they look very nice on the wall. During the day when they're not lit you'll hardly notice they're there, and at night not only do the lights look beautiful, but the way the light shines from above and below creates a really cool effect. I'm not sure we'll need white lights anywhere in the house so can't say I'd buy more, but I'm definitely happy with these
