I had two pairs of reasonably good boots - still in good condition, but I scratched my toes on one pair and my side on the other pair. So they looked rough and yet the inside and the soles were in good condition. My goal is to use things for as long as possible - I'm not a fashion expert - but I want my clothes and shoes to look neat and cared for. This kit initially aroused skepticism in me - the colors are a bit off. But I realized the trick is to mix the colors to get the right skin tone (or other material) and after a little experiment - voila - a very exact match - you can't even tell . Also, they give you textured leather paper to give a seamless look. Both of my shoes were smooth so no paper was used. Follow the instructions - clean the area with an alcohol wipe and let it dry, I had to trim off some of the torn edges and then use already mixed pots to fill in the worn areas. Smooth it out as best you can and then let it dry. Very happy with the results.
