Nice table but don't plan on painting it.
Read reviews carefully for what to expect for staining or varnishing. Based on the reviews we read on multiple sites about issues with staining rubberwood (which this table is made of - the same as Parawood), we decided to spray paint our table. It came out great, but I'd rather paint it - that would be a big mistake as rubberwood is notoriously bad at staining. Just know in advance what you are up to and what you can't do when coloring this stuff and you will be happy.
