I suppose it will work if you want to use it for a poster or something about 3ft away, but for general blacklight it just isn't enough. I don't have much experience with LED black lights, but if it's a decent output, they're not the same as tubular black lights and should be avoided if you plan to fill a standard sized room with black lights. It works great though, it's built pretty well. My complaint isn't really about skill, it's about strength and intensity. Overall this disappoints me, but it's still a decent novelty that can work well with a computer desk and webcam. I would just spend another $6 to get a true black light tube lamp.
