I was looking for something very neutral but not quite plain. No fuss, no frills, no flowers. I also wanted the premium look and feel of real cotton, not less expensive microfiber. This beautiful quilt set fits the bill and was very reasonably priced compared to other quality quilts and overlays. The tones are serious and calm, but the embroidered geometric pattern adds a bit of visual interest without being loud. Oversized Duvet: I have a "king," as I usually do for our queen-size bed (to avoid a tug-of-war with spouse), and unlike most, it's almost too big. I think that's because in California it's sold for king size beds too. However, I am not afraid that shrinking after the first wash will cause problems! The duvet material is soft but feels a little stiff overall. Again, I think washing makes it softer. It's really beautiful, lying flat on the bed, fashionable but not trendy.
