Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Enhance Retro Gaming Experience with 2 Pack USB Controller for NES Games - Suily PC Gamepad Joystick for Raspberry Pi, Windows, Mac, Linux, RetroPie Emulators by Justin Malkowski

Works with Retropie + Raspberry Pi 3 as well as Nestopia

After trying to get the NES style wireless controller to work (unsuccessfully) with Raspberry Pi 3 + Retropie I gave them a try. They work absolutely perfectly with Retropie - all bindings work great. I also tested these controllers with Nestopia on PC - works great, all buttons bind perfectly. I ended up buying a second pair for another Raspberry Pi/NES build. What I really like about these controllers is that they are connected. Wireless are a crutch because after a long game you eventually lose your controller and have to stop everything you're doing to charge it. The biggest downside to these controllers is that they are rigid. MUCH stiffer than the original NES controllers. This will definitely affect your gameplay as it takes some getting used to. This can affect things like sequences like running/jumping in Mario games where your accuracy isn't as good as it was with the original NES controller. I feel like the market for NES/Pi/Retropie controllers is so limited and so forgotten that you have very few options and sadly have to. A must for Retropie users! If you wish to use these controllers with Retropie to create an NES emulator, please note that you must use a separate controller (like a PS4/XBOX controller) to connect to the Player 2 hotspot in order to to get past it. Key binding screen. Otherwise, you'll bind all the buttons on your controller and can't get past the rest of the button types because the "Hold any button to skip" instructions will NOT work with those controllers. With that second controller, you can just scroll through all those other useless shortcuts to the OK button at the bottom. I learned all of this through a lot of grueling trial and error and wanted to share that knowledge.
